Freelancers have to take care of their project management, finances, and managing their time. It’s not all about rainbows!

The upside?

There are a ton of tools, apps, resources, and blogs available to help freelancers in their journey.

The downside?

It can be hard and overwhelming to find the right tools for you. You have to choose the right freelancing tools to improve your process, system, and save the time.

In my freelancing journey, I’ve used a number of tools and I got a pretty good idea of what works for me.

In this article, I’ll share 30 Freelancing tools and resources that help me in my freelancing business. I hope you’ll find these tools helpful.

(Keep in mind, every niche and each freelancer is different, so what tool I think is great might not work for you.)

Writing

1. Google Docs – I always write in Google Docs (even this article). It’s easy to use.

2. Grammarly – One of the best tools ever made for content writers. Gives your writing score and fixes grammar, spelling, words, and sentence structure.

3. Hemingway Editor – The tool highlights lengthy, complex sentences and common errors. It gives your writing readability score and suggestions to make it simple and clear.

4. Coschedule Headline Analyzer – This tool helps me to write effective headlines for articles. It gives score to your headlines.

Productivity Tool

5. Evernote – The best tool to organize your notes, ideas, and projects in one place. 

6. Trello – Your all in one tool for project management, assigning tasks to team, communicate with clients, track your progress and so much more.

Free Stock Photography

7. Pixabay – I love this tool. Here you’ll get stunning images for free that you can use anywhere. Royalty free photos.

8. Unsplash – Download high resolutions photos and use for your work.

9. Freepik – A great tool to find free vectors, images, and photos. I suggest you go for the paid version.

Graphic Design

10. Canva – A boon for non designers. No matter what you want to design, Canva has a template to simplify your process. Try it NOW!

11. PicMonkey – Easy to use and powerful design tool if you don’t know photoshop.

12. Google Slides – I use Google slides to create ebooks and PDFs.

Website Design

13. WordPress – It’s an open source software you can use to create a beautiful website, blog, or app. No need to have coding knowledge.

14. GoDaddy – GoDaddy provides domain names and hosting at an affordable cost. And I love their support. Try it.

15. CSSIgniter – Here you’ll find beautiful WordPress Themes & Plugins in Budget. I’m using Spencer Theme for my blog.

Email Marketing

16. Mailchimp – An easy to use email marketing tool. Create sign up forms, email lists, landing pages, and email campaigns in minutes.

17. Sumo – Build beautiful and engaging sign up forms, pop-ups, social sharing buttons, and welcome gate to convert your visitors into subscribers.

18. Upscribe – I use this tool to create sign up forms for my Medium blog.

SEO

19. Google Keyword Planner – It can help you to find the right keywords with search volume.

20. YoastSEO – It’s the most popular WordPress SEO plugin. It checks your complete content.
